Twelfth Night

Directed by Amelia Meckler

July 11 – August 16, 2008

“If music be the food of love, play on!”

Shipwrecked in the land of Illyria, her brother lost at sea, Viola finds herself in the middle of a bizarre love triangle. Employed by Duke Orsino, and disguised as a boy, she is sent on an embassy of love to Countess Olivia, who finds herself smitten by this intriguing messenger. Love, mistaken identities, disguises, revenge, tomfoolery, sword fighting, passion, and music - sweet music, make Twelfth Night one of Shakespeare’s funniest and most complete comedies.

I saw last Friday nights performance of Twelfth Night in Redmond. It was filled with great comedic timing. I did not feel restless even though it was 2hrs. I loved all the charactors filling out the play and there was not anyone who you felt was not playing it up with their all. Scary sword fighting,it was so well done! I loved sweet music! It is a whimsical show and you just feel like saying AWWWWWW at the end! The audience clapped after every scene! I also love that fool and he made us all laugh so hard. Malvolio made every one crack up too and my friend swears she is going to name her baby Malvolio! I highly recommend going to see this show with your whole family. I was super impressed that you could hear everyone so clearly over 400 people because I was in the back.
